LAUREN LYONS

Years of high-stress jobs and traveling for work left me feeling depleted and inflamed. My lifestyle was creating the conditions for poor gut health and I had unknowingly become a good host for pathogens and inflammatory bacteria. I was living with symptoms like acne, PMS/mood swings, irregular bowel movements, and weight gain.

Despite my degree in nutrition, I didn't have access to the tools widely available today. I had the knowledge about body systems and diet, but I didn't have the data to identify the conditions inside of myself that were uniquely contributing to my symptoms. Looking back, I was doing my best to hydrate, exercise, and eat well, and I was quick to solely attribute my symptoms to my stressful lifestyle.

I now have access to the right tools. I educated myself in functional labs through multiple levels at the Institute of Restorative Health, continuously train in programs like Sheila Kenneally's Practitioner's Blueprint, and combine it all alongside lived experience. I've found that health begins in the mind and I'm midway through a subconscious reprogramming apprenticeship with UPGRD. Having access to personalized data — whether through labs or my subconscious beliefs — was the turning point for me to feel like myself again.

I find that healing comes in layers and I'm still peeling away at mine. I get excited about reprogramming the subconscious, hydration, and energy work.
